Healthy dogs and cats starts with healthy food.

Healthy dogs and cats starts with healthy food.
Long before there was a pet food scare and recall I was feeding my dogs and cats home prepared food. Most of my cats and dogs are seniors and living longer than any pets I've had in the past when I didn't know better and fed them a commercial brand of pet food.I have not vaccinated any of my pets (with the exception of rabies vaccines required by law - if not for the law I wouldn't do that either)My dog Dandy is already 6 years over his life expectancy. He's 16 right now and running around like a puppy. My last visit to the vet resulted in my veterinarian stating, "He's got the blood work of a 2 year old!). Now, mind you this is the vet that I have to fight with every year to NOT vaccinate my pets. Will he admit that not vaccinating has not hurt my pets? No...but I think someday he'll learn.None of my pets have ever died of a disease associated with lack of vaccinations. So feeding healthy food and holding down those vaccinations are two ways I like to promote healthy living for my dogs and cats. Using natural cleaning products is another way.I cook every night for my three dogs. My cats do get dry food, but it's natural, no by-products. I prefer Wellness dry and sometimes wet. Otherwise I make a raw food mixture that includes vitamins, taurine and a host of other things to make a very healthy mixture. I'm going to start writing about how I make these foods, give you updates on new products that will keep your pet healthy and out of the vet's office and just chat and share our love of animals....all kinds not just dogs and cats.
